How do I pay for my FirmSite Express web site?
You will receive an invoice from Thomson each month for $125 (incl gst) that can be paid by various methods including cheque or credit card.

Is their a minimum contract period?
Yes, you are signing up for a period of 1 year (a commitment of $1500 incl gst), and then you can cancel your FirmSite Express web site any time after that, giving 1 months notice by phone, email or letter to Thomson.

If I cancel my FirmSite Express web site, what do I get?
You will be provided with the registry key for your web site address (URL) so that you can use this URL elsewhere (for a web site, email or both). You can be provided with a copy of your web site text (not the design) on a spreadsheet or on a word document.

I already have a web address (URL) registered, can I use this for my FirmSite Express web site?
Yes you can. We can provide you with instructions on how to have this URL pointed at your FirmSite Express web site. This is your responsibility to organise. FirmSite will still register a second URL for you that we use to set up your FirmSite Express web site.

Do I need to renew my FirmSite Express URL every 2 years?
FirmSite will pay for the renewal of your web site URL (the URL we registered for you), every 2 years on the renewal date providing you are still a FirmSite Express customer on the date of renewal.

Can I set up email to run through my FirmSite Express web site URL?
Yes, once your web site is released this is possible. You will need to choose an email service provider, a cost that is to be covered by you. Your email service provider will need to take upon the DNS responsibilities and follow the instructions provided by FirmSite and point the URL back at the FirmSite hosting services.

Can I use my existing web site design or provide you with a design to use for my FirmSite Express web site?
Sorry, no, you must choose from one of the FirmSite Express design options.

What if the design options available dont quite suit my prefered colours or logo?
Select the "I feel Lucky Option" and we will have our FirmSite designer modify one of the options to suit your colours and logo. You can advise us which option to start with, but you cannot ask us to make changes from what the designer prepares.

Can I change my web site design after the site is released?
Yes, for a fee of $220 (incl gst) you can select another design option from the FirmSite Express list. You can do this as often as you like, providing that you pay the required fee each time.

Once I have chosen a design option, is it still available for other sites to choose?
Yes, the design option belongs to FirmSite and can be used by other customers of FirmSite. If you include your logo and ask us to edit the design to suit your corporate colours or logo, you will find the design looks unique to your firm.

How many navigation buttons can I have on my FirmSite Express web site?
There are seven navigation buttons, one for each page.

Can I change the names of the navigation buttons on my FirmSite Express web site?
Yes, you can change the names of the buttons using the FirmSite Express CMS, except for the last two buttons that are always named "Links" & "Contact Us".

I have 10 staff members, can I list them all on my FirmSite Express web site?
Yes, the Staff page of your web site allows you to enter as many staff members as you wish, they simply appear one after another on your staff page, creating a longer (scrolling) page as you add more.

How do I add photos of my staff onto my web site?
You can load these up easily through the FirmSite Express CMS.

Who puts the information (content/text) onto my web site?
FirmSite will set up the structure of your web site including a list of your staff and practice areas. You can then load the rest of your text onto the site using the FirmSite Express CMS by yourself or whilst receiving training from FirmSite.

Can I add articles to my FirmSite Express web site?
It is possible for you to set one of your user definable pages, such as say an "Updates" page. But you would really only publish one article at a time. It is not suitable for creating an archive of articles, you should consider a FirmSite 1 or above for such sites.

Can I add a newsletter to my FirmSite Express web site?
It is possible for you to set one of your user definable pages as a "Newsletter" page. You would only publish one newsletter at a time and have no archive. Newsletters are also available to purchase as a subscription service from FirmSite.

Can I upgrade my FirmSite Express web site to one of your other FirmSite options?
Yes, this is possible. You will need to sign a new order form that includes a one off cost to upgrade as well as a new ongoing hosting & maintenance fee agreement. You can keep your web site content, use the same CMS, but with more options and either keep your design, or have a new design prepared. The upgrade costs are normally just the difference in original purchase price.
